Black Rock
Black Rock is a familiar run. Also known as Bum Jungle, starting from the beach cross the train bridge and go left. Run on the road past the Depot for about 3/4 of a mile, then cross the tracks at the water treatment plant and find the trail on the other side of its fence. Follow the trail by the water until you run into the big black rock, then come back. For a good variation see Kootenai run.0 mile(s)

That is the sort of race which one really enjoys - to feel at one's peak on the day when it is necessary, and to be able to produce the pace at the very finish. It gives a thrill which compensates for months of training and toiling. But it is the sort of race that one wants only about once a season.
