With the uncertainty and need for flexibility during this time of COVID-19, everything may not be as we have done it in the past, but we will aim to keep our training, team building and traditions intact as much as possible this upcoming year. As we navigate, we will use the information from our local health department, school district and the State of Idaho for best practices in keeping our team safe and healthy. Please be advised that dates and plans are in a state of flex right now and we will be updating as we get information. It will be important to make sure you are checking emails/texts regularly for any updated information. Email angie@shsxc.com to be added to the mailing list and roster.
Summer running is an integral part of a successful cross country season. In order to be successful in the Fall you must lay the foundation throughout the summer. Each summer we hand out a mileage chart to guide you through your summer training, as well as a core, weight and stretch handout. These are made to guide you through your summer training and prepare you for the rigor or the training once the season starts.
Each year we hold a team camp in July, this year it is July 14th to the 16th. This is a local camp held on Baldy Mountain, and one of the team highlights. It is a great mid-summer fitness check, and an opportunity to work on building the SHSXC team of 2020. It is highly encouraged that you attend this camp. It is a great team building week, and provides tools and information that will help create a more successful season.
Registraion usually occurs the first week of August. With the COVID-19 shut down in the spring, a firm date was not set. Watch this page and the schedule page for updates, also contact angie@shsxc.com to get on the mailing list for updates.
