Boys and Girls Sweep Bonners Ferry Invite!

The Sandpoint girls and boys varsity won the Bonners Ferry Invite behind great efforts by all 14 runners. Kat Vardell ran a personal record 20:33 to win the girls race in an oustanding race. Megan Bartlett placed 3rd, Christine Miller was 6th, Rebecca Johnson was 7th, Bailey Hein was 8th, Ali Miller was 9th, and Vicky Vardell was 10th. The girls scored 25 points to win the meet.
The boys were led by Adrian Mitchell who ran an 18:35 for 3rd place. Steve Teran was in 4th, David Householter was 5th, Zeb Smith was 13th, James VanEssen was 18th, Chris Dunham was 25th, and Jesse Javana was 31st. The boys had a first place score of 41, ahead of Moscow's 56.
The boys JV also took first, with Tim Householter winning the race in a 21:20. Riley Millar was 2nd with a 21:27. The girls JV was second, and Katie Meek won the race in a 26:28.

It is one of the strange ironies of this strange life that those who work the hardest, who subject themselves to the strictest discipline, who give up certain pleasurable things in order to achieve a goal, are the happiest men. When you see 20 or 30 men line up for a distance race in some meet, don't pity them, don't feel sorry for them. Better envy them instead.
