Sandpoint Distance Competes at first meet of the year in Lewiston03/21/2015
The Sandpoint distance team was in action for the first time in 2015 in Lewiston this weekend, taking a small part of the team to race in the Volmer Bowl. The girls 400 had Laurent Orr place 8th in 1:06.55, Dana Beaty run a 1:09.57 and Saydee Brass finish in 1:11.19. In the girls 800 freshman Sharon Rowe finished 7th with a 2:39 (PR), followed by teammate Cori McClelland in a 2:43. For the 1600 Mikhaela Woodward placed first in 5:27.81, followed by Hannah Davidson in 5:52 (PR) and Emily Marshall in 6:04. And for the 3200 Claire Pierce was 3rd with a 12:44 PR.
On the boys side, James Bradley ran a 57.98 400 to start out the year. In the 800, Mark Kennaly ran a PR in the 800, finishing in 2:02.8, followed by the 6th place finish of Kenny Kovalchuk who ran a 2:06 (PR). Matt Cloud was next with a 2:11 (PR) and Daniel Radford ran a 2:30. The 1600 also had 4 runners, and Chris Cordova led for the boys with a 4:54, followed closely by Finan Lund-Andersen with a PR time of 4:54.3. Andy McGinnis also PRed with a 4:57, followed by Peik Andersen running a 5:08 PR. Sam Powell took 8th in the 3200 with a PR of 10:43, followed by Andy McGinnis who ran a 10:51 PR. Matt Cloud completed the double of the day with a 10:55.
