Sandpoint Competes at NXR 2014

Nine Sandpoint runners finished their season by running in the Nike Cross Regional Championships at Eagle Island State Park near Boise. The boys ran in the Varsity Division which had 152 runners, and placed 6th of 15 teams in their race. Jacob Graham led the way with a 16th place finish, followed closely by Sam Powell who placed 18th. Andy McGinnis was also in the top 50 with his 44th place finish. Chris Cordova and Matt Cloud rounded out the scoring 5, and were followed by Mark Kennaly, Reilly Wolfe and Clay Rasmussen. Clair Pierce was the lone girl who ran in the Varsity girls race with 191 other runners. Times for the course were well off PR pace, with over 6 inches of powder snow on the starting field, and packed snow and ice throughout the course.
With this race, the SHSXC 2014 season is officially over. Have a nice active recovery and get your goals in line for next season.

Training can be a lonely endeavor, that's why your goals are so important. They kick you out of bed and don't accept excuses. When the day comes to achieve your goal, you have to honestly ask yourself, 'Did I do everything I could'. A true athlete can always answer yes, until that time this is just a hobby.
