Sandpoint Quad City Meet Results

The Sandpoint distance team started out their 2014 season well this Saturday at Coeur d'Alene High School. In the 3200, Mikhaela Woodward placed 2nd, running a 12:01.2. Close behind was Sydney Foster, placing 6th and running a PR of 12:39. In 8th and 9th were Cori McClelland and Emily Marshall who ran 13:32 and 13:41. In the boys race Sam Levora won with a time of 9:50. Placing 5th was Jacob Graham with a PR of 10:42. Next was Sam Powell in 10th with an 11:11, and Adam Bourn was 14th with an 11:24.
The 1600 saw Mikhaela Woodward place 2nd in a 5:30, Rainey Woodward 3rd in a PR performance of 5:31, Sydney Foster run 8th with a PR of 5:45, and Claire Pierce 9th in a 5:51. Sam Levora was second in the boys race running a 4:30. Jacob Graham was 8th with a 4:57, Alan Orr 11th with a PR of 5:01, and Andy McGinnis 13th in a PR 5:10.
The girls 800 saw an exciting finish as Rainey Woodward moved from 3rd with 200 meters to go to win the race in a time of 2:31. Lauren Orr, Bree Jones and Dana Beaty placed 6th, 7th and 9th respectively in times of 2:45, 2:47 and 2:50. Matt Burgstahler started out the season with a win, running a 2:03 and winning by over 6 seconds. Quinn Donnelly ran a PR 2:30 for 12th, Clay Rasmussen ran a 2:40 for his first ever 800, and Logan Finney ran a PR of 2:43.
In the 400, Lily DeAragon ran a 1:04 for 3rd place, and Mark Kennaly ran a :54 for 3rd also. The 4x400 races were both exciting, with the girls team of DeAragon, Orr, R. Woodward and M. Woodward placing a 2nd to Coeur d'Alene in a time of 4:20, and the boys team of Cox, Levora, Burgstahler and Kennaly placing 2nd to North Central with a 3:36.
For this time of year, the results were excellent! Next week the JV runs at Lake City on Tuesday, and the Varsity runs at Post Falls on Thursday.
