Sandpoint Girls Win Sandpoint Invitational10/06/2012
The Sandpoint girls won the Sandpoint Invitational this weekend, scoring 43 points and beating Timberlake who scored a 79. Mikhaela Woodward set the pace by placing second and running a 20:12. She was followed closely by Sydney Foster who was 4th and ran a 20:30. Emily Marshall was back after being out for the last meet and ran a 21:23 for 10th overall. Senior Aubrie Perry was 4th for the girls, placing 13th in a time of 21:41, and Kara Bruce rounded out the scoring 5 with a 21:56 for 17th place.
Sam Levora led the boys to a 5th place finish by winning the Boys Varsity race in an impressive time of 15:52. Tim Prummer was next, placing 15th in an 18:05. Jacob Graham ran another great race with an 18:31, Sam Powell ran a 18:38, and Mark Kennaly ran an 18:53 to round out the top 5.
For the JV teams, the Boys won the meet with a perfect 15 point performance. Andy McGinnis ran an 18:54 to win the race. He was followed by Grant Kennaly (19:17), Matthew Cloud (19:18), Daryl Zavala (19:22) and Hunter Price (19:51) who place 1-5. The girls also won the JV meet, led by Bree Jones in first with an 22:08 and Cori McClelland in 2nd with a 22:12. Lauren Orr place 5th with a 23:20, and Marisa Rains and Liz Kovalchuk placed 13th and 14th.
Sandpoint had 27 PRs in the meet! Up next for the Bulldogs is the Regional Cross Country meet in Lewiston on October 18th. Great job this week!
