Girls Team Wins Libby Invitational

The Sandpoint Girls Varsity team placed 1st at the Libby Invitational this weekend. The girls showed amazing pack strength, led by Sophomore Mikhaela Woodward who ran a 20:21 for 2nd place. Sydney Foster was right behind in 3rd place running 20:23, next was Emily Marshall who ran a 20:46 for 5th on the 3 mile course. Claire Peirce was 7th in a 21:19, Jacey Lawson was 8th in 21:20, Kara Bruce 12th in 21:38, and Cymbre Martin was 20th in a 22:20. The girls pack time was a 20:50, and the top 6 girls all made the SHSXC top 25 3 mile list! Mikhaela is now 9, Sydney 10th, Emily 12th, Claire 15th, Jacey 16th, and Kara 22nd.

The boys did not field a full varsity team this weekend. Tim Prummer was first for Sandpoint and 12th overall, running an 18:01 and making the 25th spot on the all time 3 mile list. Daryl Zavala and John Nicolich both ran a 19:05 20th and 21st place.

In the girls JV race, Treva Nostdahl was first in a time of 23:03. Adam Bourn was first for the Sandpoint boys in the JV race running a 19:12. Next week is Silverwood.
